Dearest Little Sister Ching,

I heard about the incident in Khuga Dam regarding forced pornography. My heart aches for her and so I said a prayer for her.

Ching, you were the first person that came into my mind as I read about the story on Zogam.com. In fact, I recalled the time we celebrated your 13th birthday last March at that same place. Isn’t it awful that such a despicable act can take place in the same place where one finds peace and tranquility? Likewise, sex can be viewed as something like a "Khuga Dam". Based on the Bible, sex is a beautiful thing that God created to be enjoyed only between a married couple (Gen. 2:24, I Cor. 7:2-3). This is why it's not surprising that research shows that faithfully married people enjoy the deepest levels of sexual satisfaction. However, due to the influence of Satan, sex is distorted, abused, and portrayed as dirty (Gal. 5:19).

Oh, my little sister, how I wish our parents were with you in times like this… I still miss them as well and it would make it a little easier if I were closer to you. I did call you few minutes ago but you didn’t answer. I guessed you were at the police station along with your friends demonstrating for justice.

If dad was around, he would have admonished you and might even have said that you’ll get pregnant if you touch a guy. Believe it or not, dad told me that and I thought he was right… Who would have thought I would have ended up marrying u Lal and be blessed with a son! Anyway, I’m telling you all that just to remind you to keep yourself pure in the sight of the Lord. I did the same and it’s the best gift I could have ever given to my husband.

My little sister Ching, I know being 13 is odd and it seems not cool to be a good Christian at times… I know girls lose their virginity at a very young age because of different reasons. Sometimes, they desire the attention they get from men as they do not realize their worth and value in Christ. In some case, the men manipulated them to feed their lust. Like the incident at Khuga Dam, some women had no choice as they were raped or brutally tortured.

You might like someone and that’s fine but please if it is within your power don’t let anyone undress you nor take advantage of your body. Moreover, please be wise as a serpent by not putting yourself in a situation where you can be raped. If he truly loves you, he’ll not sleep with you nor tempt you to even go there. Instead, after a prayerful and well-timed courtship, he'll do the right thing and propose to marry you. Tell your future boyfriend that you can’t sleep with him because you respect God above all else and that He doesn’t approve of premarital sex (1 Cor. 6:18-20). (And, you might want to add… “Oh, my big sister will kill me!”).

I pray that you’ll find a man who will respect your body and love you like Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). My little sister Ching, I pray that this man will stay faithful to his commitment until his last breath. Always remember that you’re beautifully and wonderfully crafted in His image (Psalm 139:14). I have full confidence in you and I trust that you’ll make the right decision.
