A brief note of ARK (Alliance for the Reformation of Kukis) Chief Convenor Dr.Chinkholal Thangsing, Commander of the Royal Order of the Sahametrei address to the august Inpi at the 22nd General Assembly of the Kuki Inpi Manipur, on 17 December 2015, Imphal:

Dr Chinkholal Thangsing presented the vision, aims and objectives of Alliance for Reformation of Kukis in the 22nd Gen Assembly of KIM at Kuki Inn Oldlambulane Imphal on 17th December 2015.

He quoted Albert Einstein "The world we have created is the product of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our Thinking", we need to change our thinking and when we do we will change and if we do that in only the positive way can we change and reform ourselves and our neighbors to be better citizens of our land.

Dr Chinkholal emphasized on the need for restructuring of KIM from its present organic-liked structure to a federal system so that all the constituent tribes of the Kukis in Manipur can imbibe in the apex body of the Kukis. Dr Thangsing implored the congregation to leave the past misunderstanding and rise to the occasion of the need for a new order to recover, safeguard our people, land and live in harmony and prosperity within us and with our neighbors. He went on to say that its Kuki tribes are blood bond and as such inalienable and have equal rights as equal stakeholders in the Kuki Inpi,( the apex organization of the Kukis.)"If nation like South Africa can bring an end to Apartheid (the racial segregation of the white and black in SA) and rewrite their constitution, why should not the Kukis in Manipur redraft or amend their constitution to accommodate all its constituent tribes"? He asked.

Dr. Thangsing said "ARK would strive for total reformation for a federal structure." He also suggested that all the constituent tribes of the Kukis shall delegate members to the Kuki Inpi as their tribe representatives similar to that of the German Bundesrat and the European Council where the representatives of the federal council of Germany and European Council are neither elected nor appointed but, comprises of members of the government.

The proposal of ARK was accepted with a thundering applause from the members present in the assembly.

The assembly unanimously resolved to amend the constitution of Kim so as to accommodate al the different tribes of the Kukis.

The assembly also recommended ARK members and Kim election commission to chalk out roadmap for regrouping of all the Kuki tribes under the Kuki Inpi
