KSO appeals AMCTA to withdraw demands
TSE, IMPHAL, Jan 10: The Kuki Students' Organisation (Ghqs) has urged the All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) to withdraw its demands for issuance of Office Memorandum other than the MPSC notifications with local considerations; cancellation of the appointment order in respect of the three regular principals and removal of the Commissioner (Hr Edn).
A statement issued by Sasang Vaiphei, VP (Adm), KSO Ghqs said that the demand for for issuance of Office Memorandum other than the MPSC notifications with local considerations could not be given by the Commissioner as it is beyond his ambit.
The Govt has already accepted the conditions laid down in the UGC Guidelines 2010 which is available in the website. The question of Office Memorandum with local consideration is just to make a room for favoritism, corruption and malpractices. People clearly understand that this is the idea of the opportunists only, it said.
The demand for cancellation of the appointment order in respect of the three regular principals is meaningless because, those who have already been appointed and posted in their respective colleges assigned have now rights to retain their positions, it said.
Instead of criticizing the qualified candidates, it will be far better to get themselves qualified and try to get such positions in the next attempt because still there are 22 remaining seats for them, it said.
The only demand that the Commissioner can satisfy the agitators is the demand for removal of the Commissioner.
But, the grounds for removal of the Commissioner are not satisfactory and not convincing, the KSO said.
"He is the only Commissioner of Higher Education since the last 20 to 30 years who ever initiated for recruitment of regular Principals in Government Colleges in Manipur as per the UGC Guidelines.
"He is the only Commissioner of higher education in Manipur who has initiated the establishment of two Universities in the soil of Manipur. He is the only Commissioner who is now trying to process for recruitment of the remaining 22 regular Principals so that all the Government colleges shall have regular Principals very shortly," the KSO statement said.
