Lamka, March 26 2012: The Churachandpur Police have apprehended two suspects, including a serving Assam Rifles personnel in connection with the kidnapping of Khwairakpam Ibungo Singh (40) on Saturday at Khumujamba Meitei Leikai, moments after rescuing him at G Khonom village located adjacent to Khuga Dam.
Police sources said they have rescued Ibungo at around 5.10pm yesterday from G Khonom village.
They have detained two individuals, a serving AR personnel posted with 35 AR in Sajik Tampak and a cadre of KLO/KLA (Timothy group).
The AR personnel (Rifles No.5005547-F) have been identified as Marimsanglen Chothe, 26 son of M Amute Chothe of New Wangma Village in Chandel Dist, while the KLA cadre was identified as Satkithang Kipgen, 23 son of Khailam Kipgen of Saikul Village in Senapati District.
The police are still hunting for other accomplices in the crime, said a source that claimed that Ibungo was kidnap on Saturday night at around 7.30pm while he was heading home in a Honda Activa by a Pulsar Bike and a Honda Activa borne youths.
An FIR under section 400/365/34 IPC was registered against the apprehended duo, who were granted police custody till April 4, 2012 by the CJM.

KNF (S) refutes report
Lamka, March 26 2012: The Kuki National Front (S) today denied any hand in the kidnapping of one Imocha as reported in The Sangai Express with the caption "Abducted man rescued", and claimed that the armed group has adhered to the ambit of the ground rules ever since signing the SoO in August 2008 .
The report that dragged their name was intended to malign the armed group's image, and those involved will not be left unpunished, said a statement signed by Issac, Scey I&PR, KNF (S) .
Reports of Imocha receiving a demand letter of Rs 1 lakh was also a lie and it can be confirmed from him, added the statement.
The outfit does not function as some youth clubs so the police source should also refrain from maligning the organisation without any substantial evidence, state the outfit that also asked for any evidences to be produced in public.

Meiphu on Moreh SHG menu
Moreh, March 26 2012: Solam self help group of S Moljol village in Moreh sub-division has formally established S Moljol Ceramic Industry to manufacture charcoal heater (Meiphu).
The Industry was officially inaugurated this morning by chairman of ADC/DRDA, Chandel Lhukhosei Zou at S Moljol village which was followed by a public meeting in which the locals affirmed to make the industrial unit a successful venture, compatible with similar products from across the international border.
Applauding the vision and efforts of Solam SHG for such a path-breaking initiative, Lhukhosei exhorted the local artisans to strive for excelling in their field of profession through vigorous dedication and hardwork.
Noting that presently charcoal heaters made in Myanmar are being bought in large number by people of Manipur from Namphalong market, he suggested that setting up of a permanent shop at Moreh town will boost sale of the S Moljol product.
Sibong constituency ADC member Ch Ngamthang Mate who also addressed the gathering, said that Solam SHG is an exception in Moreh block for a number of SHGs exist merely for availing financial assistance from the Government.
Pointing out that economic activities by these SHGs could make a difference in the financial position of the State, he also expressed that with the restoration of ADC institutions in Manipur past instances of embezzling development fund by Department officials is no more the norm.
Ngamthang also urged his ADC colleagues to remain vigil and work for the betterment for people in their respective villages.
The meeting was also attended by members of different ADC constitutions under Moreh Block and community leaders.
