Lamka, March 13 2012: A fourteen year-old boy was kidnapped by unidentified armed miscreants on Friday evening from New Bazar here apparently for ransom but was found the following day at an isolated location near Khuga Dam.

Ankit (14), according to reports, was kidnapped for ransom at about 3pm on Friday.The abductors were said to have contacted the family using the boy's mobile phone about two hours after taking him in their custody.

It is speculated that ransom was paid to secure the boy's release though his immediate family has declined to give any comment.He was found in Khuga Dam area at about 9am on Saturday.

Veteran Marathon at Tuibuong

Lamka, March 13 2012: A marathon run for veterans will be organised by the 27 Sector Assam Rifles to commemorate their ninth rising day at Tuibuong Peace Ground here on March 17 .

Inviting the locals to join the event that was scheduled to celebrate the birth of the AR sector which has been with the people through thick and thin, a statement of the sector also promised goodies for veterans completing the run.
