We shall be Champions
We shall be Champions
We shall be Champions this time!
O deep in my heart, I do believe!
SSPP shall be Champions this time!!
The perennial fans favourite and the best supported teams in the history of Tamchon Tournament, SSPP Fc kicks off their tournament campaign today against The NYISHI team from Arunachal Pradesh.
The SSPP Fc makes their intent right from the start with their attacking formation of 4-4-2 with Tluanga and Khamminthang starting upfront and the evergreen midfield maestro Sonpau commanding the midfield with Seiboi alongside Michael and Siasiam operating in the right and left flank respectively. Biaksang, Muansang, Mangkholen and Khuallian completed the defence line up with Sonlian as a custodian.
True to their formation and intent, the SSPP Fc drew 1st blood when their striker Tluanga shot past the hapless NYISHI goalkeeper sending the colourful Sspp fc fans into frenzy. The 1st goal came after a majestic midfield play by Seiboi and Michael which caught the opponent defence by surprise. The NYSHI player started to put a tempo in their game by trying to control the midfield but its was the SSPP Fc who almost came scoring again when defender Khuallian hits the crossbar. Another close chance came by when Tluanga misses a clear chance but his shot was put away by NYSHI goalkeeper.
The NYSHI player started to somehow control the game from the 25th minutes but the Defence quartet under the command of Biaksang were unmoved and werent much troubled.
Another midfield link up play between Sonpau and Seiboi set up Siasiam to make a perfect crosses but it eluded the wanting head of Khamminthang. Two attemps by Michael and Khamminthang flew right over the bar in succession. Within minutesthe towering forward among the Sspp fc player Khamminthang then misses a sitter just in front of NYSHI goal. With the majestic midfielder Seiboi linking the defence and midfield with Sonpau slowing things down in the middle there is no real chance for their opponent. The 1st half ended with the.score remains.the.same at 1-0 in favour of the Red Brigade.
With the past experience in their minds, the SSPP fans were uncomfortable and uneasiness can be.seen by their body language. ' Goal khat bek Khum lai ding' was the chorus among the crowd. They very well knew a solitary goal.in not.enough to calm.their nerves.
The 2nd half begin as expected, SSPP fc dominating the possession and attacking. A great run by Khuallian was thwarted by NYSHI defender just outside the Dbox. Freekick taken by Siasiam was saved by the.keeper who nervously deflect the.shot and the freeball inside was wasted by Khamminthang who seems to have a habit to misses a sitter thought his workrate is among tue best in the side.
The domination of SSPP side is clear when in quick succession the NYSHI side conceded a Freekick just outside their Dbox. Attempts by Seiboi goes wide. Nothing sort of attacking can be witnessed from the NYSHI side and it can be seen from the number of chances and spotkick misses by the SSPP side. Another great attempt in the.run.of play by Seiboi was saved by the goalkeeper which hits the crossbar after deflecting from his fingertips.
Sonpau then came agonisingly.close to settle the.game when his attempt goes just wide. With the nervous sspp fans cheering and pressing their side, A beauty midfield play by Seiboi.and Sonpau meets the hungry legs of Tluanga whose thunderous shot was too much for the NYSHI keeper.
Score reads Sspp fc 2-0 NYSHI
With the Sspp fc side sitting pretty with two goals, it was just a matter of keeping the ball and the midfield quartet do the.job perfectly.
Final score reads Sspp fc 2-0NYishi
Takeway for sspp fc:
Seiboi is class.a runner, the best workrate among the Sspp player. Tluanga, what can I say, hes just the.right man at the.right time, hardworking and the.fittest among the squad. Biaksang at.central defence to his job perfectly coordinating his fellow cadres in tandem. Mangkholen did a.great job at the rightback too..all in all a great.match.a.beautiful.passing game a treat to watch.
Room for improvement:
If the striker duo of Tluanga and Khamminthang coordinate better, we might have score a lot more. They seems to.be.togather always when there is thru ball from the.midfield area in both ground.and aerial.ball. If.one.can.act as a decoy for their opponent defence at.times splitting runs.between defence all will be well....
Its a good start id say. Next match against Wung United will test us more. The.way I see it we are ready.
Fervently optimistic that this.time
We will.be Champions.this time!!
Everything to God in.prayer mole...
