PRESS STATEMENT
The 8th October, 2012
In connection with the incident at P. Songlianlal's residence, Langol Game Village on 7th October, 2012, the Organisation would like to state that, our cadres have no intention to kill, hurt or maimed him or any of his family members. This in vindicated by the sequences of events. While they are seated in the common room his son along with his private army, numbering about 8 (eight) suddenly attacked our men causing grievous injury to one of them. The unprovoked move compelled our men to act in defence which also cause minor injury to the mother-son duo. The attacked on our men in peace mission is unfortunate and highly condemnable.
It may be mentioned that, P. Songlianlal was implicated in the recently attempted coup of the Organisation. We have repeatedly informed him to explain his position and settle the case, if found guilty, as per the Zomi customary practices. He fails to pay heads to the repeated efforts of Zomi Civil Societies as well as Family council. On the contrary, he continues his divisive activities, mobilized private army and approaches other armed group to counter the Organisation. He instigated defection in the party, shelter the defectors and facilitate meeting with other Arm groups. He is also instrumental in distributing antiparty pamphlets and his son P. Nanglamkhenmung, Delhi spread the same venomous news using fake email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
His desperation may be fueled by his loss or defeat in the election for which the Orgnaisation is not responsible. Neither encourage him nor forced him to contest or stop contesting election. Nevertheless it is universal truth that a person with dubious records hardly receives public support at the time of election.
We believe in peaceful solution of any pending issues, but it will be unacceptable if any person chose the otherwise.
