BJP success at Centre boosts CCpur unit
TSE May 19:

Couple of days after the BJP’s landslide victory, the party’s Churachandpur district leaders took the opportunity to launch a jibe at the State’s Congress party and called on the people to give the BJP a chance in the State as well.

Former Singngat MLA and BJP leader Hangkhanpao said that any instances of financial difficulties in the State in the near future would solely be the State Government’s responsibility.

He said the State has been receiving and will be receiving funds from the Centre sufficiently no matter which party is in power at the Centre.

"Let us be warned, any repetition of citing fund crunch as the ground to hold back employees' salaries or other developmental activities, as was the case some years back, would directly mean that the Congress party has misused the funds provided to it by the Centre, as funds will keep coming as long as the State doesn’t misuse it," he added.

Hangkhanpao also quoted the BJP prime minister-designate Narendra Modi and pronounced that the country is heading towards good times and assured that crimes like rape, murder etc will see a dramatic fall at the national level once the BJP assumes responsibility at the Centre.

"I give you my words, let us compare them in the next one year, and the next five years you will surely see the difference," the BJP leader told reporters.

He said, "When the entire country has denounced the Congress party, we should also change our perception."

He specifically made a call on the UPF and KNO leaders for the same. "This government is already 10 years old, it’s time we all look for an alternative."

How long are we going to appease the Government that says Alternative Arrangement or Kuki state as impossible even if the sun rises in the west, he posed.

And, the congress is used to bullying armed groups with the barrel of the gun to serve their whims but they should know that their time is over.

Also addressing reporters alongside the former MLA was ADC Member Tongminthang who said the BJP will work for granting more autonomy to the ADCs in the form of 6th schedule, and will oppose the Congress Government’s attempt to replace the traditional chieftainship of the tribals.

He said Job Card holders were not receiving the mandated work days as the State made undue interference in its implementation and still could not fulfil their responsibilities and pleaded that his party will work to restore the scheme in its entirety.
