A Congress legislator and a member of the autonomous district council (ADC) of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo-dominated Churachandpur district were left red-faced after their names were found to be missing from the voters' list of their respective assembly constituencies ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte and ADC member H Mangchinkhup were among the 2,000-odd voters of the district whose names did not feature in the electoral rolls under the special summery revision 2014, which was published on January 6, a source said.
Valte and Mangchinkhup have jointly lodged a complaint with the state's chief electoral officer, urging him to take action against the erring officials.
Valte is also parliamentary secretary for horticulture and soil conservation in the Okrom Ibobi Singh government.
