Ukhrul incident: Security personnel deployed to maintain law and order, says Chief Minister Ibobi

Chief minister Okram Ibobi today visited RIMS and JNIMS and personally enquired the condition of those who were injured in yesterday’s police firing in Ukhrul. Manipur deputy chief minister Gaikhangam, health minister Phunjangthang Tonsing and Chingai assembly constituency MLA Preshow Shimray accompanied the chief minister.

Talking to reporters the Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakhs each for the deceased family. He also said that the injured families will also be taken into consideration for compensation.
