The 5th ZPL Zomi Nam Ni Football Tournament – 2015 - Highlights and Countdowns

The much anticipated and eagerly awaited ZPL football extravaganza exclusively for the 'legally migrant' NE diaspora of the capital city is set to kickoff at Delhi Vasant Kunj B2, DDA Ground for 3 consecutive days starting on the 20th of February 2015. This annual event has been organised by a small group of young Zomi football enthusiasts based in the capital, who almost a decade ago collectively provides themselves a platform to share, dare and bet on everything about football - Zomi Premier League with a motto - 'Less Me, More We'

In the words of the current ZPL Convenor Dinga Sektak, the tournament has been a yearly affair and organised by ZPL with their own funds as well as sponsors from well-wishers. The tournament has been arranged in such a way that it always coincides with the Zomi Nam Ni celebration which falls on the 20th February every year and for the past 4 years, it has been one of the most important events for the Zomis residing in and around the capital city.

This year, a total of 16 teams will be vying for the coveted ZPL trophy and the match will be played on direct knockout basis. Fixtures and timings have been already communicated to all participating team managers.
