CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Zomi Council Headquarters is deeply shocked at the untimely demised of Pi Dr. Bianca Mang Khan Cing Suantak@ Bianca Son d/o (L) Dr. Vumson Suantak on 13th June, 2014 at London, UK. She is one of the most promising Zomi Scholar who, like her Father, has conducted research on the history, culture and genealogy of the Zo people and concluded that all the people coined by the Colonial administrators as Chin, Kuki and Lusei are descendants of Pu Zo. She continues to share her research findings at various international and national conferences/workshops and never stop working towards unity of Zo people. One such case is her paper on, “The Role of Informants in the construction of the Zo as Chin, Lushai and the Kuki” presented during the 3WZC-2013 that provided insight into the unfortunate divisions of Zo people based on Colonial informants.
Her sudden death is a great lost for the Zomi nation. We share the pains and sorrow suffered by near and dear ones. We also pray that the Almighty God is with the bereaved family.
May her soul rest in peace.
