Army apology ends ATM assault impasse: K Zou

LAMKA, May 13: The ongoing tussle resulting out of the assault of an ATM guard at CCpur with the army has been resolved today, said K Zou AAP candidate from the Manipur Outer constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha Election today. He said this at a press conference at his residence today.
The AAP candidate told the media that he was happy with their backing while fighting for justice, and added that AAP will do good thing but without the help of the fourth estate it will not be pragmatic.
He said that the tribal are bound by customary laws, and the Army in the area also needs to respect that custom/tradition.’’
The Army finally relented and this evening, came to apologise through customary practices and now the matter is resolved’ K Zou, also a senior advocate at Delhi, said.
He also issued a brief press note which says that with his initiative and, more importantly, with the help from relatives and friends of the victim Chinzapau son of Tongzapau of Singat Village, a delegate of the 1/11 GR who were behind the incident of April 9, 2014, amicably resolved the impasse at the victim’s residence located at Kamdou Veng, CCpur at 2.30 pm today.
The press note further said the Army under their Commanding Officer (CO) and the Behpa (family representatives of the victim) lead the discussion resulting in the amicable resolution of the issue as per the customary laws of the tribe.
K Zou expressed his deep gratitude to all concerned citizens, state as well as local level organisations and the media fraternity.
