IMPHAL, Nov 28/TSE: Close on the heels of the TKSU withdrawing from the Chu-rachandpur District Students’ Union (CDSU), the Zillai (Vaiphei Students’ Asso-ciation), another federating unit of CDSU, has backed out from CDSU with immediate effect.
“Keeping in view the recent developments with regard to CDSU, the Zillai General headquarters, in consultation with the Zillai Welfare Standing Committee, has decided to withdraw from the CDSU with immediate effect,” said a withdrawal letter of Zillai Ghqs addressed to the president of CDSU.
The Zillai letter signed by its general secretary, Lamzagou Vaiphei cited ‘lack of efforts’ on the part of the CDSU to consult its parent organisations on important and critical matters, and also frivolity of CDSU on constituting consensus among different parent organisations on issues of common interest, as the reasons for drawing back from CDSU. The missive further stated that Zillai should not rejoin CDSU as a member organisation until the present anomalies are rectified and unity and amity re-established among the parent organisations of CDSU.
