PRESS CLARIFICATION

Reacting to termination orders No. 6/ZRO/I&PR-1/99 dated 10th July, 2012. I feel relieved on being terminated from the Gen Secy ZRO after such a tortuous years. The Cabinet Council is kind enough to mention honouring my contributions towards Zomi cause in the past, whatever little I might have rendered.

Reasons for termination of my duty in the Organisation however are questionable for a party considered to be mature enough to handle such a crisis.
Is it fair to accuse one of “negligence of moral and official duty” whereas on innumerable occasions many of the workers from top to bottom stay put neglecting duties and morality? Where were the rules then which are applied upon me now? I always regarded myself duty bound to comply orders and collective decisions. Unfortunately I was not called for and not updated of the recent situation which I initially presumed it to be for my being out of station.

“Instigating revolt in the organisation” is another charge for which I totally denied any involvement. It is baseless, concocted and hypocritical.
In my clarification Dated June 25, 2012 to the cabinet council, I appeal a thorough investigation minutely upon the allegations levelled against me in a free and fair manner.

Once again I appeal the Cabinet Council to rekindle its wisdom and re-investigate the charge against me in a free and fair manner. I propose an open trial in a neutral ground in the presence of intellectuals and civil society bodies where all witnesses present themselves or their statements which is signed(not under duress) authenticated by a reputed body.

Ultimately the slapping of a fine of Rs. 60,00,000/- (Rupees Sixty Lakhs) to be paid by me to the ZRO Hq within seven days (21st – 27th July 2012) is a farce, a trap so that on failing to pay one could be charged with any offence it suits them to. It is well known that from all sources of income this amount could not be mobilized in years.
