The Paite Kulmut would like to express our support and solidarity to our Mizo brothers and sisters who have been the victims of the barbaric act of the Assam Police at Bairabi in Kolasib District.

The Assam Police had carried out reign of terror by mindlessly beating up the Mizo youths and opening live bullets at them. The Mizo youths were a small group of people from the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) who were just trying to set up a resting shed in the land within the boundary of Mizoram.

The use of big number of armed and brute force to stop a small group of unarmed students was uncalled for and the responsible police personnels and officers should be punished appropriately by the authority concern.

We the Paites living in Mizoram, Manipur and other places stand with our Mizo brothers and sisters in their hours of need and we are with them until justice is served at Bairabi.
