In pursuance of the joint meeting resolutions of 15th February, 2016 at Gangpimuol, Ccpur, the Coordinating Committee of Gangte Tribe Union (GTU) and Gangte Tribe Council (GTC) was formed during a joint meeting of the two bodies on 13th April, 2016 (Wednesday) at the Lamphel residence of Shri Lamboi Gangte, General Secretary, GTU. Accordingly, Shri Lamboi Gangte, General Secretary, GTU and Shri Genboi Gangte, General Secretary, GTC have been unanimously elected as the Convenors of the Coordinating Committee.

Besides, 12 other members from GTU, GTC, GYO (Ghqs) and GSO (Ghqs) have been inducted as members of the Committee. Moreover, the Committee is also entrusted to co-opt members of other Gangte bodies as its ex-officio members.

The meeting also entrusted the Coordinating Committee and the Gangte Youth Organisation (GYO-Ghqs) to form GYO Churachandpur Branch at the earliest, tentatively before 23rd April, 2016.

The meeting also resolved that a pan-Gangte tribe confluence, Gangte Meet, 2016 be held this year. The meeting entrusted the Coordinating Committee to organise the meet at their disposal and discretion, but by Oct/Nov 2016.
