Note Of Gratitude | 3rd World Zomi Convention
Lamka: The 8th November, 2013

At the outset, the Zomi Council and Organising Committee of the 3rd World Zomi Convention, 2013 thank the Almighty God for being our Jehova-Jireh, Jehova-Rafah and Jehova-Nisih in making the historic Convention a grand success. Such a grand event would never be possible without the precious presence and providence of our God who blesses the collective efforts of different people, across the globe, from all walks of life, who put-together their hearts, minds and resources to make it happen as it has happened.

We are deeply indebted to the Church Leaders of different denominations for their fullest co-operation and prayerful support. We have experienced how God has spoken to the people through the invited Speakers on the theme, “Be a Blessed Nation” by delivering their inspiring messages at different Worship Centres. Our special thanks to the Bawngkawn Pastor Bial Zaipawl and Mizo Cardinal Choir as well as prominent Choir Groups in the Town for their splendid songs that have been enlivened our spirit.

The wonderful performances from Naga and Meitei Cultural Troupes make the Convention more meaningful. We are grateful of all the Cultural Troupes within and outside India for making the Cultural Events a grand success. The various Zomi tribes dressed in traditional attires representing their respective traditional dances adorned the function colourfully. How great these display uniformity in Zomi culture exists in the broader sense, yet its beauty lies in its diversity...!

We also thank all the Resource persons and Speakers during the Convention. Their expert views and messages will undoubtedly help the people as they resolved to keep ‘Marching on, and on….’

Our heartfelt gratitude to all elected Leaders, who have personally involved in this endeavour both of the Union and State, as well as high-ranking officials for their fullest co-operation, presence and participation. Delegates from outside India could freely participate in the Convention due to the timely intervention of the Government. Our special thanks to Pu Okram Ibobi Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur and his daughter, Miss Rini Ibobi; and Pu Gaikhangam, Dy. CM, Manipur who, in spite of their busy schedule, graced the Convention as Chief Guest on 27th October, 2013 and 25th October, 2013 respectively. The Chief Host, Pu Phungzathang Tonsing, Hon’ble Minister, Manipur and his colleagues made no stone unturned to make the Convention true and real success. The Hon’ble Ministers/PSs/MLAs and MDCs; the Dy. Commissioner, Churachandpur; SP/Churachandpur; all SDOs/BDOs; all Head of Departments and Officers have contributed whatever they could afford towards the success of the Convention.

We are indebted to the participations of prominent NGOs like, All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO), United Naga Council (UNC), Mizo People’s Convention (MPC), Manipur, Global Zomi Alliance (GZA), Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZCD), Myanmar, etc., etc. in addition to representatives from almost all the hill tribes in Manipur.

We also thank to all the philanthropic Organisations, Churches and Institutions, including Churachandpur District Sports Association (CDSA) for making their infrastructures/amenities available. We also acknowledge the full co-operation of Schools/Colleges, traders, businessmen and Village Authorities for their active participations.

The untiring joint efforts of Leaders of the 9 (Nine) tribes under Zomi Council (Simte, Vaiphei, Paite, Zou, Thangkhal, Tedim-Chin, Mate, Gangte and Kom) were highly commendable. It was their selfless efforts that make the Convention a grand success.

Last, but not the least, our profound gratitude to the media fraternity who have rendered full co-operation right from the beginning of the Convention. Special mention may be made to the Manipur Hill Journalists’ Union (MHJU), All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU), NE-TV, hosts of social networking groups, both print and electronic media at the local and national level, etc who have made coverage of the entire programme.

The 3rd World Zomi Convention, 2013 concluded with a renewed passion to keep “Marching on...” and as we move forward, we understand the importance of ‘inclusiveness’ in our endeavours.

May God richly bless all the stake-holders of the Convention to be a blessing for others.

THANKING YOU.
