SSPP Joint Headquarters, Shillong organizes a two-day Seminar on “Democratization

Process & Zomis”

Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) Joint Headquarters, Shillong has launched the Golden Jubilee celebration by organizing Football Tournament at Lamka Public Ground from 5th – 12th January, 2013. The Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee has sought to celebrate this land mark event by organizing a two-day National Seminar on “Democratization Process & Zomis” at ICSSR-NERC, NEHU Campus, Shillong- 793022 on the 19th & 20th March, 2013. Eminent Zomi Scholars and other noted writers and faculty members from various universities will be presenting papers on the theme and related topics as resource persons. The seminar is sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Siamsinpawlpi leaders and students are being invited to participate in the seminar which aims at encouraging discussion on democratic Institutions and democratization process amongst tribal societies in the North Eastern Region thereby capturing Scholarly attention to sensitize Government and policy makers for ensuring democratic administration.

Elaborate programme and events have been drawn as we enter the fiftieth year of the students’ organization which will eventually culminate with a Grand Finale on October 2, 2013, the day on which SSPP Joint Headquarters was formed way back in 1963.
