'KIM authorised to initiate dialogue with State on bills'
IFP | KANGPOKPI, October 1: The Kuki Inpi Manipur has been fully authorized to initiate dialogue with the Government of Manipur on the three Bills today by a joint meeting of several tribal organisations held at KIC Office, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
A press communiqué signed by Khaimang Chongloi, general secretary, KIM said that the Kuki Inpi Manipur today convened a joint meeting of Zomi Council, Hmar Inpui, Mizo People's Convention, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur, Vaiphei People's Council, United Zou Organization, Simte Tribe Council, Paite Tribe Council, Tiddim Chin Union, Thangkhal Tribe Union, Komrem Union, Thadou Tribe Council, Gangte Tribe Council, Mate Tribe Council and Joint Action Committee at KIC Office, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
He continued that the significant joint meeting had a thoroughly and threadbare discussion on the issues confronting the tribal people of Manipur and the violent situation while unanimously adopting various resolutions.
The joint meeting condemned in the strongest term the inaction of the Government of Manipur against the memorandum submitted by the Kuki Inpi Manipur on September 21 urging the Chief Minister to call back the Bills and place on his table for further discussion and reconsideration with participation of all stakeholders both from hills and valley communities, Chongloi added.
He further said that the joint meeting fully authorised the Kuki Inpi Manipur to initiate dialogue with the Government of Manipur on the three Bills and its related issues arising out of the Bills.
The joint meeting also agreed to extend unflinching support to the Kuki Inpi Manipur in the initiative added KIM secretary.
