Entire Family Murdered in Aizawl

Lawngtlai, January 10, 2015:- It was around 7:30pm last night when somebody knocked on the door of Pu. Sangliansiama of Republic Veng locality in the pretext of selling something. When the door was opened, one Laltlanchhuaha, (S/o Para of the same locality) barged in with a knife and demanded money. The house owner, Siama gave him 1000 rupees but the miscreant want more and an argument started resulting in the house owner being stabbed. Siama died on the spot.

Panicked by the situation, Chhungi (Siama's sister) tried to run out of the house but the attacker caught her by the door and stabbed her dead. Khualthangi (Siama's wife) also run towards the bedroom but also suffered the same fate. Their sons, Samuel (8) and Isaac (14) alsp suffered multiple stab wounds and succumb to their injuries. The house maid Ze-i was lucky to locked herself in the bathroom saving her life.

On hearing the commotion, neighbours rushed to the house and tried to apprehend the culprit. Tlanchhuaha jumped out of the window, fell on the roof of the next house where he was caught by the Hostellers.

The family was survived by Chhungi's son, Hriatpuia, who was out during the time of the incident. The culprit is now in police custody and investigation is underway.
