Demand for action against assault on NE women and Student leaders

Over a hundred youths took to the office of Bar Council of India today demanding immediate action against a lawyer who molested a young woman from Nagaland while she was returning from work on thursday night.

Further, the incident the next day inside the Tis Hazari Court room sparked a massive anger among the youths , where the NE student leaders including a woman lawyer were physically assaulted by a group of lawyers , leading even to injury of the the President of the Zeliangrong student union(Delhi). The youths demanded that the group of lawyers be immediately suspended.

While several such cases of assault were meted out to the NE communities in metro cities are still pending , it is the Judiciary system where people go for justice, specifically for the NE, besides the Police as law enforcers. It remains to be seen how the Law practitioners takes up the matter of there fellow colleagues.
