KHAWNUAM : PAITE VILLAGE

Khawnuam is a Paite tribal village located in the remote hill of Singhason in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.

Khawnuam was established in December 1969. The people of Khawnuam follows Christianity as their religion. They speak Paite language and there are also other communities like Kuki, Nepali, Thadou, Dimasa etc.

It is a small village, there are about 35 houses and the population is approximately 300.

Paite is a distinct tribe having its own culture, custom, tradition and language.
