Origins and Mission

Launched from a cyber café in Ber Sarai, New Delhi, Zogam.com was envisioned as a non-profit initiative to bridge the Zo community across geographical boundaries. The platform serves as a hub for news, articles, videos, poetry, and cultural content, aiming to preserve and promote the rich heritage of the Zo people.

Cultural and Political Significance

The term “Zogam” translates to “Zo land,” symbolizing the collective identity and homeland of the Zo people. The website plays a crucial role in fostering Zo nationalism, advocating for unity among various Zo subgroups such as the Chin, Mizo, Kuki, Zomi and others. It supports the idea of a contiguous homeland, transcending modern political borders imposed during colonial times.

Community Engagement and Impact

Over the years, Zogam.com has evolved into a comprehensive platform featuring interviews with community leaders, coverage of cultural events, and discussions on social and political issues pertinent to the Zo people. Its commitment to being the “Voice for the Voiceless” underscores its role in amplifying the narratives and aspirations of the Zo community.

Zogam.com promotes literature and has organized two important literary events: the Zogam.com Writers Award in 2008 at Lamka and the Dr. T Ginkam Zogam.com Writing Competition Award in 2010 at New Delhi. To appreciate and recognize the contributors of the society, Zogam.com also organized the Zogam.com Personality Award 2013 (ZOPA) in January 2014.

Also, to help the underprivileged citizens of the society, Zogam.com contributed to the Mautam Relief Fund to COMFA in 2008, the Malsawm Initiative in 2012, Only Grace in 2012, Amazing Grace in 2012, and Tabitha Home in 2013.

Zogam.com also promotes cleanliness in public places. On 23 December 2011, Zogam.com helped clean the Churachandpur District Hospital by organizing a social work event. Zogam.com also took part in various social activities; it organized TV live discussions and programs on social issues related to the 3 Bills issue in Manipur.

Legacy and Continuing Relevance

As of 2025, Zogam.com remains an active and influential platform, continuing its mission to unite the Zo people through digital means. Its enduring presence reflects the resilience and cohesion of the Zo community in preserving their identity and heritage in the digital age.
