Police and Fire Brigade were stopped from reaching the site by the mob. However, no casualty was reported.

Meanwhile, in the day, several cases of arson in different places were reported. Buses and private vehicles were burned.

Earlier on Sunday, a mob attacked and threatened to burn down the MBC Centre Church and the Tankhul Babtist Church in Imphal.

The attack was carried out as counter economic blockade in the state imposed by the United Naga Council in protest against the arrest of their president Gaidon Kamei and other leaders.
